St. Joseph's Home

RESIDENT CARE

Nursing Services

The nursing department is directed by a New York State Registered Nurse, who is responsible for the daily care of each resident with the assistance of staff RN's, LPN's and Certified Nurses' Aides.

Dietary Services

Residents at St. Joseph’s Home are offered a select menu. The Food services department is directed by an experienced Food Service Manager who oversees the dining and nutritional programs of the residents. The Food Service Manager is responsible for providing nutritional meals and supportive services under the direction of a registered dietitian.

Social Services

St. Joseph’s Home has a full time Social Worker. Each resident has a "plan of care" which incorporates the needs and preferences as indicated by the resident, their family and physician. The social services department also serves as a "resident advocate" to insure that the rights and desires of the residents are observed.

Activities

St. Joseph’s Home provides a balanced and ongoing program of activities designed to meet the interests and physical, mental and psychosocial needs of each resident. Programs are coordinated by experienced activity directors and staff. Volunteers assist the staff with many activities. Each resident's care plan addresses their individualized activity needs. Activities are as much therapeutic as they are recreational. Choose from large group programs as well as one-on-one sessions.

Pastoral Care

The recognition of spiritual values has made the Chapel a focal point for residents of all faiths. Mass is offered at St. Joseph’s Home six days per week and communion is offered to those who are unable to attend.
