Resident Services

Resident care services at St. Joseph’s Home include medical, nursing, physical therapy, therapeutic recreation, clinical nutrition, social work, and pastoral care. The nursing home also provides support services such as housekeeping, laundry, hairdressing, shopping service, maintenance, food services and transportation.

Nursing Services

The nursing department is directed by a New York State Registered Nurse, who is responsible for the daily care of each resident with the assistance of a staff of RN's, LPN's and Certified Nurses Aides.

Dietary Services

Residents at St. Joseph’s Home are offered a select menu. The Food services department is directed by an experienced food service supervisor who oversees the dining and nutritional programs of the residents. The food service supervisor is responsible for providing nutritional meals and supportive services under the direction of a registered dietitian consultant who visits the facility on a monthly basis.

Social Services

St. Joseph’s Home provides social services by a full-time social worker. Each resident has a "plan of care" which incorporates the needs and preferences as indicated by the resident, their family and physician. The social services department also serves as a "resident advocate" to insure that the rights and desires of the residents are observed.

Activities

St. Joseph’s Home provides a balanced and ongoing program of activities designed to meet the interests and physical, mental and psychosocial needs of each resident. Programs are coordinated by experienced activity directors and staff. Volunteers assist the staff with many activities. Each resident's care plan addresses their individualized activity needs. Activities are as much therapeutic as they are recreational. Choose from large group programs as well as one-on-one sessions.

Pastoral Care

The recognition of spiritual values has made the Chapel a focal point for residents of all faiths. The Director of Pastoral Care, as well as our Chaplains, give individual spiritual direction to the residents on a request or need basis. Mass is offered at St. Joseph’s Home six days per week
