RESPITE PROGRAM

Our respite program gives families with the responsibility of caring for a loved one temporary relief from the tasks associated with care giving. The respite program allows for an individual to have a pre-arranged, short term stay in our facility, ranging from five to thirty days. Families may find themselves in need of respite care for a number of different reasons to include going on vacation, a caregiver needing relief after they, themselves have a medical event, or when a primary caregiver needs a short rest period allowing them to mentally regroup. Whatever the reason, this program will provide the caregiver with a sense of comfort in knowing that their loved one is being cared for in a secure, compassionate, and home-like environment.

This respite also benefits the care recipient offering opportunities to socialize with others in which they may not have had within their current environment. This program is for any individual over the age of 18 that requires 24-hour nursing care. There are two respite rooms at St. Joseph's Home with access to all of the home’s services including three meals a day, snacks, housekeeping, laundry, religious services and activities programming.
